If you have an interest in conscribing/drafting a candidate this is a document you need, plus his or her own Okay (for MP). No lieing, altruism is necessary. If your at the convention I'll need someone who can say something on my behalf as a leadership Candidate, let me know if you don't mind or know something. MoreAnnouncement to Vancouver Libertarians, small and big Ls no doubt (Sticking with Vancouver, not GVRD in general): Three upcoming Vancouver Libertarian events..... It has come to my attention that the lack of active BC Members is making it hard to establish Riding Associations. 1. MONDAY, APRIL 30---- Annual Tax Protest. Outside the downtown offices of the Canadian Revenue Agency (1166 West Pender St., Vancouver) starting at 10 AM until we run out of brochures. Why April 30? That's the day our income taxes are due. This year's brochure emphasizes the differences between the market system (food, clothing, etc.,) and the government system (education, health care). Which system is more innovative, more cost efficient, more consumer friendly? Why? Come help us pass out brochures and meet other taxpayers on this national day of mourning. Due to Alan Mercer's assertion that individuals are too stupid to figure these things out for themselves, I am a humorist and my opinions do not reflect Alan Mercer, not all to all party members and officials; but I can not say it doesn't, that is for them issue by issue, subissue by subissue. In fact I wonder how much Alan Mercer speaks for the Party, it's members, and officials in totality; but the officials are the ones who share the blame. Especially for policy. Let it be known they did not suggest another riding, but I will also say I relate to no riding better than to this one and Vancouver-Burrard Provincially. * I am told there is no obsession with Clarke as the Candidate, although I find how Candidacies are placed are very Methodical like a person likes to play power games; being a Former Cannery Employee, he'd be great (John Clarke) in Vancouver East, he'd relate even better. VI-02-2007 Perhaps lacking interest in upsetting the WCLF/Paul Geddes rabble, perhaps the lack of interest in losening a grip of importance and establishmentarian opposition to Liberty, they have yet to even establish a single Constituency association and the Ontario Voting Memembers seem to feel that John Clarke prefers to have handed to him what voting members of the party should have a right to decide and is merited. I don't know what John Clarke's opinion is on this, but Paul Geddes likes to do all the qualifying according to him and he's from Coquitlam; I lived and would like to return to the West End. I do not know if Clarke opposes Liberty or choosing the candidate from the rank'n'file levels (VMs) but Geddes in Coquitlam and the Ontario VMs on the Board feel happy to deny this Liberty. Really there should be more activity by members, and Riding Associations, I suggested if the lack of one is their (lousy) reasoning or self justification for denying a nomination contest they should have no contest and no endorced Candidate; maybe it would inspire the building of an RA. I understand why these issues scare people from the party, but keep in mind, so far I got away with putting up this dirty laundry. So it could be worse. I doubt the Tories would do this. If you want someone else as a Vancouver-Centre, I suggest telling in public letters as a voting member (always have them at least bcced to usenet, a blog, or real website; it could go ignored otherwise, we should trust people, but party is run by a governance and governance can't be trusted as well as an individual.). Frankly one should be more active at least to this point. I stand for individualism and a party doesn't own me, I entrust the LPC with my support for now, but not this hand out Candidate, nothing personal against him but the process, well lack of one. There is nothing Libertarian about this. Even if he's autorenewed as a Candidate, another silly reason. Never know what could happen, he could join another party as an NDP or PMP Candidate. Politics in BC is like that very funny, people turn their coats like it's filled with Bill Clintons and spmetimes by surprise such as Neufeld (BCREF -> LIB) and Wiesgerber (BCREF -> LIB -> IND). Ujjal Dosanj. Many others. I only pray I don't end up turning into one who preys. V-10-2007 The Party has it's problems, but if you see them you can sort them out, usually the party is stuck with the best members as the most inactive because they feel outnumbered by the power mongering. It will never change. Yes running is hard because of the expenses, the current value of 10 dollars CDN and 2 signatures should be limit required to run and use your liberty and offer options for the liberty to be used in the other way. Debate access should be more open. But things like running, starting Squidoo lenses to advocate, post the votiing member principles, no need to be preachie if you don't want to; it's usually best, to city cylenders and other legal spots for posters. Mention in passing when you can. Start Website or, to a lesser extent a blog. Send donations, send Newsletter Submissions, Try Request, Show Support for, or Draft a Candidate for Nomination to the Party. Voice your opinions. Send letters to the editor, post to usenet news groups like Van.General,BC.Politics,ALT.POLITICS.LIBERTARIAN,ALT.FREEDOM,Can.Politics,etc... I won't recomment shame or pride, a humble support for your philosophical position is wonderful and a right, hold your head up just show with respectful agreement and disagreement as you see fit and remember it's completely anarchism or full of anarchists. Libertarianism is a balanced view and belief in free will and personal responsibility Cafe Press has verious Libertarian (Generic and Unofficial and US) Stuff to get and show support with it. I set some up, I found something with a "Proud of my Libertarian Values" granted proud seems a little much but the button is pleasant. Anyway these things can be done many ways. There are very few active members contacting the president and leader, so I am told, if you want me to forward it I will send it to them, or if you feel better it's correspondence with a party official and you can Bcc: it to people so know one knows everyone who knows you sent it but you and them, and you can post it on usenet and sites and blogs and lenses as a public letter; spread your view. Link here or to the official party site, or all LPC and LP sites you can. LPEDIA.org accepts Canadian Libertarian Contributions. Have fun and it's no pressure but being heard never hurt anyone, silencing usually hurts more in the long run. Thanks, and best from Gölök ZLF Buday. IV-24-2007 According to Elections Canada the first section of the rules regulating nominations require a competition for the nomination if more than one human being places him or herself forward, which to my knowlledge, in Vancouver Centre there are two, me and the selected John Clarke, John Clarke even if lost could have been picked accordind to section 4 of the rules if the party disagrees with the other option(s) winning, conduct not becoming of a Libertarian, but it could have happened. None-the-less needlessly the Libertarian Party Vancouver Centre Rank'n'File were denied. Funny thing if the party did not register, they would be completely unregulated in this regard signing up officially independent Candidates, much like the unrecognized but poinient write-in campaigns. IV-06-2007 As predictable, John Clarke is the tentative 2007 election that might happen election Candidate in Van-Centre aside from my write-in decision, draft or independent run. The LP went boys club there way with this they know I was open to be an alternative and thought PR may be at risk, so decided to deny the rank n'file the liberty to vote and hear arguments, showing the need for a new guard of LPC members who respect Liberty and Grass Roots Nominations. Remember, the best party to publicly or criticise at all is your own. I hold no ill will personally toward's Clarke, but frankly am sick of the same old crap and tested their willingness to allow nomination oppostion, "F." The Reform Party of Canada at least gave me as much as the run around. II-28-2007 Is it likely I'll run in the next federal in Van-Centre? No it's likely to be handed to Clarke, John of the Geddes BC Libertarian nomination within; I am considered, "bad publicity," however I doubt it will even allow a nomination opposition, which is a problem; too many paranoid tyrranical types running the show in BC. Not to discourage, I encourage more grass roots action and open opposition to them or support, I don't care, just be heard. Sadly Clarke would just make for another whire bread list on the ballot; the darkest in the past has been Connie Fogal. By Name, a sort mutt Cossak. None the less if I run it will be likely as an independent against the LPBC Candidate. X-30-2006 Due to disagreements, and my declaration of not being a anarchist and not wanting to be confused for one, and some other "issues," Pres. Alan J. Mercer I am no longer officially the non-official East Vancouver Contact and am temporary barred from being decided by the rank-in-file if I am a Candidate as LPC or not and have no replacement yet; I am independent, I may still offer aide, like information, to those who do not want the less philosophical and erudite establismentarians in the party who sound like Marijuanna obsessives. Perhaps the Party will replace my Ink Jet Carts that a juiced out, I'll have to ask; after all the signs I placed. Maybe I'll consider it a donation, at this point being a member and tolerating their petty attacks may donation enough. X-18-2006 Throwing my support behind behind e-booth recycle bin candidates in 2006 election down south. VII-23-2006 Keeping it in the open air, in BC, I am offering a new guard one not controlled by a NDP-Marijuana Party friend of Svend and Emery, such as Geddes who rules the BCLP and his Guard like a king or el-presidente while his success and others in his guard are lower than John Clarke in vote success. Pardon the sentences if they are a bit of a run on. None the less, I must make a point, I am not a friend of Marc Emery, nor the DEA, nor Svend Robinson, and Geddes decided to make an enemy out of me. Over what an opinion on borders; ever since I pointed out that property lines are borders and if he thinks they are unnatural he could not support property rights. I was proven right since he decided not to send me an invitation to hear that media whore of pot (Emery) speak (as if I hadn't heard enough). The supporter of ring theif who paid a debt to his political buddies and not to civilization and/or society and remains a theif unpunished. I guess he thinks helping the community is punishment; however I do not. Maybe a bit inconvienient. Geddes also broke a rule and kept me out of the BCLP for no appearent reason, just hatred or at minimum personal problems with me, yet he admitted to recieving the form and money and did not issue the membership. Freedom? Liberty? Maybe John Clarke should lead a mutiny. None the less, I do not want to run along the lines of blind border destructionism and pot. I want to run on the principle of preventing nothing more than the harm of one on another or many on another. I don't want some following, I want support of course, not for me as much as for my principles as I ran for Mayor and as they apply to the LPC voting principles. I am not interested in supporting policies of Anarchy (unitalitarianism) or totalitarianism (anarhcy in the state). No communism, oligarchy, monarchy, or any other tyrrany; not of one or a majority. I want balance. Common sense and reason. Too much dogma has harmed Libertarianism and I include a major warning when supporting candidates, beware of Ron Pauls (Texas Congressman, joined the Republicans to win and abandoned the LP just before it abonded Libertarianism). There is a philosophy and it is free will and the freedom to follow it, and the freedom to be innocent until reasonably discovered evidence proves you guilty in a court of law, and sane until proven insane (legaly/forensically) in a medical inquest); although I think even insanity is a fine thing when under control of the user. It's called creativity. Forced treatment has gone on too long. WHy is the Mental HEalth Team still allowed to bully free thinkers? Why do the police aid them? WHy do help the DEA? Why not local police who could prosecute the same offenses against types like Emery who had a constitutional juristiction? Why so much pot fume support and less gun smoke support? As pot support rises, our right to use a utilitarian device like a gun or, god forbid, an SUV such as an BMWX5 (one of the cleanest) get more and more harmed? A fume screen? Is it the law against Pot the problem or the term war that has made it some sort of excuse to violate privacy and other basic freedoms like speech and the right not to self incriminate. I do not want to see privacy surrendered legally by pride parades either, fine bust your prostate in your own home, don't march about it, blocking traffic and skipping out on the bill with the city on top of everything else. I have a right not to see how someone else fucks in public as much as keep others from seeing how I do it, public hand holding for any sexulity and shit is bad enough but buttless chaps, come on. Not to mention the degredation goes for all except those who debaucher as a straight couple, heterophobia? What is wrong with the "Get A Room" policy? I like don't ask don't tell, don't tell nor have to in fact more so, is a great policy in general. I do not want to look in windows, don't shove your window in my face. Fags, Dykes or even worse Celebrities. I don't care, don't make me know and it's likely I will not. FREEDOM AND LIBERTY FOR INDIVIDUALS! *As for this meeting it relates to Emery as a hobknob not a key speaker, the LPC Leader was presenting a fiscal policy speech and I, a member was knocked out of it. [Libertarian Discution Group: No Registration Required] [My LPedia Piece] Libertarian Party Statement of Principles We, the members of the Libertarian Party, support the following principles: 1. Each individual has the right to his or her own life, and this right is the source of all other rights. 2. Property rights are essential to the maintenance of those rights. 3. In order that these rights be respected, it is essential that no individual or group initiate the use of force or fraud against any other. 4. In order to bar the use of force or fraud from social relationships and to place the use of retaliatory force under objective control, human society requires an institution charged with the task of protecting individual rights under an objective code of rules. This is the basic task of, and the only moral justification for, government. 5. The only proper functions of government whose powers must be constitutionally limited, are: (a) Settling, according to objective laws, disputes among individuals, where private , voluntary arbitration has failed; (b) Providing protection from criminals; (c) Providing protection from foreign invaders. 6. As a consequence of all the above, every individual, as long as he or she respects the rights of others, has the right to live as he or she alone sees fit, as a free trader on a free market. Our Constitution provides for two types of membership: Member and Voting Member. Only Voting Members may vote at Party conventions, hold elected office or appointed positions in the Party or run as candidates for the Party. |
We need people like you who share in the belief that liberty is right and necessary for Canada's future. The other parties stand opposed to the concepts of individual liberty and wish to continue the tradition of denying the rights of individuals to make their own choices and govern their own lives. The Libertarian Party of Canada represents the alternative philosophy of liberty. Join the Libertarian Party and help us take a stand for personal and economic freedom in Canada.
